The Stoughton 12 American baseball team was one of three squads from Stoughton to advance to the finals of the Hockomock Summer League in their respective age group.
The 12-year-old Stoughton team, 7-5-1 in the regular season, had the sixth best record among the 11 teams in the 12 American division, but beat Franklin and Norfolk in the playoffs to advance to the championship game, where Stoughton went up against top-seeded Mansfield.
After a back and forth game played August 1 in Attleboro, which featured several home runs, Mansfield prevailed in the slugfest, 15-12, with Stoughton earning second place.
Players on the Stoughton team included: Tommy Fisher, Jaden Mullen, Zak Paquette, J.P. Olson, Kevin Dixon, Colin Sanda, Cole Tremblay, Nate Bodette,
Robbie Seaman, Drew Tilton, Taylor Atkinson and Sean McGivern.
The team was led by manager TJ Fisher, who was assisted by coaches Joe Bodette and Paul Tremblay.
