Obituary: Former Stoughton Teacher Michael Nassise, 78

Michael Nassise, 78, a former chemistry teacher at Stoughton High School, died Saturday.

STOUGHTON, MA — The following obituary for former Stoughton High School teacher Michael Nassise is from Kane Funeral Home:

Michael D. Nassise, 78, a resident of Easton for the past 49 years passed away, Saturday, November 23, 2019, at home under the care of his family. He was the husband of Cecile A. (Giorgio) Nassise of Easton for 56 years.

Born in New York, New York, a son of the late Dominic and Mildred (Breen) Nassise, he was raised in Roslindale and was a graduate of Boston Latin High School. He continued his education at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy earning a bachelor's degree and furthered his education at Boston State College earning a master's degree in education.

Michael was employed for 32 years by the Town of Stoughton and was the Director of National & Applied Science's for the Stoughton Public Schools and taught advanced chemistry for 11th and 12th grade students. A licensed pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts he worked part-time for 20 years at Milton Hospital.

Michael was the editor of the Tailspin Newspaper, a member of the Flying Aces Air Club and was a member of the model airplane club.

A communicant of the Holy Cross Church he was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 238 in Easton.

He enjoyed spending summers with his family in Kennebunkport, Maine and traveling to Europe, Alaska and Italy.

In addition to his wife Cecile he is survived by his children, Maria C. Solimini and her husband David of Andover, Joseph M. Nassise and his wife Dawn of Phoenix, AZ., and Christopher J. Nassise and his wife Suzanne of Easton; two brothers of William Nassise and his wife Leanne of Medford and Philip Nassise and his wife Janice of Easton; also survived by 8 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton. Visiting hours on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Michael's memory may be sent to My Brothers Keeper, PO Box 338, Easton, MA. 02356 or St. Jude Children's Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
