State Theatre Supporters Continue Search For Partner

The property has been put on the market by Hub Edge Realty.

STOUGHTON, MA — Know someone interested in investing in a local theatre? There's a property in Stoughton that might be for them.

This week, Friends of the State Theatre announced that they have expanded their search for a partner to restore the theatre in Stoughton. The listing agent is Hub Edge Realty.

The State Theatre comes with almost 12,000 square feet of space and approximately 700 seats. The last surviving atmospheric theater in Massachusetts, it was built during the last days of Vaudeville, according to the listing.

The Friends of the State Theatre is the controlling entity of the State Theatre and has a 30-year lease and an additional 10-year tenant option, with the first 20 years of the lease payment free.

The Town has approved a matching grant of $500,000 from its Community Preservation Act Funds.
