Stoughton Election Results: Trump's Vote Increases From 2016

STOUGHTON, MA — President Donald Trump’s loss in Massachusetts on Tuesday was in line with his performance in 2016.

With two-thirds of precincts reporting, his share of the vote has fallen from 33 percent to 31 percent.

So how did Trump's support in Stoughton compare with his vote totals in 2016, when he was running against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?

According to unofficial results, Trump gained support slightly in Stoughton in 2020. In 2016, he earned 4,920 votes in town, compared to 5,001 votes in 2020.

Tuesday's vote climaxed a heated battle for control of the White House, unfolding during a pandemic that killed nearly a quarter of a million Americans before Election Day.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the election remains too close to call, with seven key states still counting votes.
