The family of a 4-year-old Stoughton girl who lives with a rare, undiagnosed brain condition is in need of a handicap-accessible van in order to travel to and from medical treatment venues.

The Parkman Family has launched a GoFundMe page in an effort to raise money for the van, which would be used to transport Gianna, whose brain condition has left her to require the use of a wheelchair.

The family posted the following to the GoFundMe page:

“We visit Children’s Hospital, Lexington and Waltham many times a month for specialty appointments, weekly physical therapy sessions and monthly follow-up appointments. As she gets older and bigger it is becoming extremely difficult to transport her and the wheelchair safely. A handicap van is essential at this point, however the cost is unattainable for us. The cost of a completed accessible van is upward of $20,000.”
