Stoughton High Boys' Cross Country Starts Season at Hockomock Jamboree

The following is from Stoughton coach Harvey Blonder:

The Stoughton boys' cross country team competed in their first meet of the cross country season Tuesday at Borderland State Park (Hockomock League Jamboree).

Despite threatening weather the meet went off as planned.

The course length was 1.55 miles and athletes were seeded in 7 different races (runners 1-5/open/freshmen)

The top two times for the boys were turned in by captains David Lockhart (8:37) and Alec DeNapoli (9:20). Antonio Irons, running in his first cross country race, was third fastest in 9:32.

Nick Quattrucci lowered last year's time by a full minute and ran 10:02. Fifth man was freshman Colin Cochrane who clocked 10:18 in an excellent debut.

Sean Ellertson (10:46) and Raj Patel (10:51) rounded out the top 7 for the Black Knights.

Other times: Cameron Bean (11:02), Luke Butera (11:02), Jason Marshall (11:11), Jonathon Lessa (11:25), Stevens Bontemps (12:13), Jonathan Oliveira (12:19), Brian Tucker (12:33), and Ryan Dolinsky (13:39).

This year's team has been bolstered by the addition of six freshmen - Bean, Bontemps, Cochrane, Dolinsky,  Lessa, and Tucker.
