Stoughton Library Hosting 2 Events With Authors

STOUGHTON, MA — Four local authors will visit the Stoughton Public Library this week to tell stories and talk about their books and writing processes. The authors are Clara Diaz, N.S. Dolkart, Victoria Sandbrook and Lura McCartney. Diaz, who's from Stoughton, is scheduled to speak this Thursday, while the others will come out the library on Saturday.

Here's a little bit about the two events:

Clara Diaz: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, June 13

Diaz, a voice in the women’s empowerment movement, will speak about what it takes to live a joyous and authentic life. She will discuss her book, "Create Your Best Year, One Day at a Time." The following is an excerpt from her book:

Every year, many people set huge goals for their lives. However, only a small number of us actually achieve those goals. Women, especially mothers, struggle to set aside time and energy to dedicate to seeing their dreams come true. This book proposes a new way to go after your goals each year that is more aligned with women's natural ability to peacefully, purposefully progress one day at time. The author takes you through a step-by-step process that will allow you to become your own life coach and motivator on the journey to manifesting what you want the most.

N.S. Dolkart, Victoria Sandbrook and Lura McCartney: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 15

• Dolkart is a stay-at-home dad and author of the Godserfs trilogy of theological epic fantasy novels: "Silent Hall" (2016, David Gemmell Morningstar Award nominee), "Among the Fallen" (2017), and "A Breach in the Heavens" (2018).
• Sandbrook is a speculative fiction writer, freelance critic, and Viable Paradise graduate. Her short fiction has appeared in Sword & Sonnet, Podcastle, Shimmer, Cast of Wonders, and elsewhere. She also reviews books.
• McCartney writes fantasy and science fiction and is a member of the Boston Speculative Fiction Writing Group. A former freelance writer and editor, Lura now works in academia.
