Stoughton Man Killed In Milton Crash

Stephen Zorn, 24, of Stoughton, was killed in a four-car crash on Interstate 93 in Milton.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man died in a head-on crash on Interstate 93 in Milton, Massachusetts State Police said.

State Police said Stephen Zorn, 24, was killed in the crash Saturday while driving on the wrong side of the highway and causing a four-car crash. Three others were hospitalized following the crash.

Around 5 a.m., State Police were called to I-93 southbound and found two Ford Escapes, a Mercedes Benz and a Kia Sportage at the crash site prior to exit 3.

According to State Police, Zorn was driving one of the Ford Escapes and was driving on the wrong side of the highway in the middle lane. He then struck another Ford Escape head-on, and the impact from the crash sent into a barrier, police said. Zorn's car rolled onto its roof.

Zorn's car was then struck by a Mercedes Benz and pushed his car off the highway. State Police said the Mercedes was then struck from behind by a Kia Sportage. The Mercedes and the Kia came to rest in the right middle travel lane.

Zorn was ruled dead at the scene. The driver of the other Ford Escape, a 29-year-old Plymouth woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Boston Medical Center. The driver of the Mercedes, a 50-year-old Wrentham man, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Milton Hospital. A 38-year-old Raynham woman, driving the Kia Sportage, was taken to Milton Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash forced the closure of all four lanes of Route 93 for four hours to accommodate the rescue response and investigation.

A fifth vehicle, a mobile crane, sustained minor damage from striking debris scattered on the highway as a result of the crash.
