Stoughton Native up For Two Grammys

Lori McKenna earned the nominations by writing the Little Big Town song Girl Crush.

STOUGHTON, MA - Monday night, a Stoughton native could walk away with two trophies at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.

Lori McKenna is up for two awards for helping write the Little Big Town song Girl Crush. The song is nominated for Song of the Year and Best Country Song. The tune is also nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, but the category is strictly for performers.

Girl Crush will have some stiff competition in the general category, with Alright by Kendrick Lamar, Blank Space by Taylor Swift, See you Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, and Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran also nominated.

In the country category, Changes performed by Lee Ann Womack, Diamond Rings and Old Barstools by Tim McGraw, Hold My Hand by Brandy Clark, and Traveller by Chris Stapleton are also nominated.

Last year, Girl Crush won Song of the Year and Single of the Year at the 2015 County Music Association Awards.

The Grammys air on CBS Monday night at 8 p.m.
