Stoughton Native Wins Grammy for Girl Crush
Lori McKenna walked away with a trophy at the 58th Grammy Awards.

STOUGHTON, MA - According to the Grammy voters, a Stoughton woman wrote the best country song of the year.
Monday night, Little Big Town’s hit Girl Crush, written by Hillary Lindsey, Liz Rose, and Stoughton’s Lori McKenna won Best Country Song. The song also won the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, but that award is for performers.

In the Song of the Year category, the tune lost to Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud.
Girl Crush has been nothing short of a hit for the band and songwriters. The double-platinum song went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs, No. 18 on the Hot 100, No. 63 on the Year-End Top 100, and No. 2 on the Year-End Hot Country chart.

In November, Girl Crush won Song of the Year and Single of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards.
