Stoughton Opens Cooling Center For Heatwave Relief

Temperatures could hit 97 degrees in Stoughton Tuesday with a heat index of 104.

STOUGHTON, MA — Town officials opened a cooling center Monday at the Stoughton Public Library for residents who need relief from the heatwave.

The opening comes after state officials issued a heat advisory for Monday, June 28 to Wednesday, June 30. The National Weather Service forecasted temperatures, mostly in the mid 90s for the next three days, but temperatures in Stoughton could hit 97 degrees on Tuesday, with heat index values as high as 104.

Town officials said cooling center hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., each day during the advisory. The Stoughton Public Library is located at 84 Park St.
