Stoughton Police Selling 'Boston Strong' T-Shirts to Honor Fallen MIT Officer Sean Collier

The shirts are $20 and $10 of each sale will go to One Fund Boston.

In the wake of the Boston Marathon terrorist attacks members of the Stoughton Police Department are selling t-shirts to help raise money for One Fund Boston.

The front of the t-shirts, which only come in black, have an insignia of a Stoughton Police badge with the name Collier across it to honor fallen Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer Sean Collier who died in the line of duty, allegedly at the hands of the Boston Marathon bombers.

The back of the shirt says "Boston Strong" and "Stoughton Strong" with a blue and yellow ribbon that has the zip codes of Boston and Stoughton on it.

Sullivan said their initial order will be for 300 shirts.

“Way more than I thought," she said of those who have already pre-ordered shirts. "I think we’re up to 170-something now.”

Sullivan said that the SPD sent officers to Boston to help in the manhunt for the Marathon bombers.

“I kind of wanted to do something because we had three officers that were pretty heavily involved in it. Between escorting the President, the First Lady, all that stuff, covering traffic and getting everybody where they needed to go. And then we actually had another officer that was on the SWAT team and at one point he was [on] one of the first SWAT teams that responded to the shooting in Watertown,” Sullivan said.

To order a shirt visit Stoughton Police Department's Facebook page or email cpoffice@stoughtonpd.org. Those who wish may also place orders at the station by submitting a check written out to the Stoughton Police Relief Association along with a note that says how many shirts you are ordering, what sizes and what address to deliver them to. Shirts should be delivered within two weeks.

Sullivan said she is hoping the funds raised will help make a difference for the victims of the bombing and their families.

“I think because it hit so close to home I think everyone is more than willing to do what they can," Sullivan said. “If they can get a shirt that can show their support I think that’s kind of a big deal.”
