Stoughton Public Library Invites Public to Art Exhibition, Adult Coloring

The library features Vasco and Armand Rodrigues, longtime residents of Stoughton and local artists, for the month of June.

The Stoughton Public Library is featuring brothers Vasco and Armand Rodrigues – longtime residents of Stoughton and local artists – through the month of June. The brothers have been painting and sketching most of their lives. Vasco is a painter utilizing oil paints as his medium. He paints in the classic/traditional style and takes inspiration from local landmarks and scenery. Vasco took lessons from painter Charles Vermoski, who took lessons from painter F. Mortimer Lamb. Both of these artists’ were also from Stoughton and their works can be seen here in the library as well. Armand sketches in pen and ink. He attended the Museum of Fine Arts, School of Art. His technique is highly detailed, taking inspiration from local landmark and literature. Vasco and Armand’s collection of work, presented here, has – until now – only been seen by family and friends.

Thursday, July 21, from 7-8:30 p.m., members of the community are invited to take 90 minutes to de-stress
and express themselves with other adults. Coloring sheets, gel pens, colored pencils and snacks will be provided for an adult coloring session. Reservations can be made through the library website.
