Stoughton Resident Achieves Diversity Award
Award recognizes associates who are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion throughout the company and in their community
BOSTON, MA – November 19, 2014 – Stoughton resident and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts associate Portia Lee has been recognized with the company’s quarterly diversity award for her inclusion efforts both within company walls and out in her community. In addition to supporting her business area’s talent goals and increasing associate engagement, Portia assembled a diverse council of community leaders, race equality and peace advocates, and members of the academic community to found a non-profit organization called Universal Achievers. This organization annually honors adolescents of Black/African decent for scholastic achievements, leadership, and excellence. She will be honored during an official presentation in early 2015.
Our diversity award celebrates associates or teams of associates who actively participate and support diversity and inclusion in a department, business area or the community. This award is part of the Diversity and Inclusion Awards and Recognition Program that began in 2013.
