Stoughton Special Election: Voter Registration Deadline Is Soon

STOUGHTON, MA — Stoughton residents looking to vote in the town's special election on June 22 only have a little more time to make sure they're registered to vote.

Residents have until June 2 to get registered if they want to vote in the select board race. Mark Zamanian and Louis Gitto are vying for the seat of former Select Board Chair Christine Howe. The seat became available when Howe resigned to accept a government job in Idaho.

Residents can register online, in-person or by mail. For those registering in-person, the town clerk's office will be open until 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 2.

Residents must be at least 18 years old on election day, a citizen of the United States and not currently incarcerated for a felony.

Those registering online must have a signature online at the Registry of Motor Vehicles. They can then register to vote or change party affiliation on the Secretary of State's website.

Those registering by mail can do so here. Those registering by mail must have the form postmarked no later than June 2.

Voters are reminded that they must update voter registration with each move — even within the town.
