Stoughton Special Olympian Joins Revs For Unified Clinic

Shawn Barton from Stoughton joined the New England Revolution and Special Olympics Massachusetts for a two-hour clinic.

From New England Revolution: Special Olympics athletes Shawn Barton from Stoughton, MA joined the New England Revolution and Special Olympics Massachusetts for a two-hour clinic on Sunday, April 22 to leverage the power of sports to promote an environment of inclusion and friendly competition. New England Revolution midfielder Scott Caldwell, goalkeeperCody Cropper, and defender Andrew Farrell facilitated different drills and training stations and provide instruction to the athletes.

The Special Olympics Unified Clinic, held at Empower Field House, kicked-off the season-long 2018 partnership between the Revolution and Special Olympics Massachusetts. Throughout the MLS season, both organizations will highlight the 50thanniversary of the Special Olympics Movement with at least three events hosted by the Revolution. Other events slated for later this season will include a Unified Match of Special Olympic athletes with and without intellectual disabilities and the annual fundraising event Bowl for a Goal on August 1.
