Stoughton Special Olympians Signed by NE Revolution

The Revs and Special Olympics Massachusetts joined forces in April for a first-of-its-kind Unified Clinic and throughout the MLS season.

From New England Revolution: Special Olympic athletes Thomas Barton, Shawn Barton, and Justyn Gruchy from Stoughton, MA were signed by the New England Revolution and Special Olympics Massachusetts to their 2018 Unified Team on May 16 at Gillette Stadium. More than a dozen athletes and partners meet with Revolution coaches and players, sign their contracts, and meet the media during this year’s signing day which served as the second event of the partnership between the Revs and Special Olympics Massachusetts to leverage the power of sports to promote an environment of inclusion and friendly competition.

The Revs and Special Olympics Massachusetts joined forces in April for a first-of-its-kind Unified Clinic and throughout the MLS season, both organizations will highlight the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics Movement, with two other events slated for this summer: the Unified Match against the Philadelphia Union on August 11, and the club’s annual fundraiser, Bowl for a Goal presented by Arbella Insurance, on August 1.
