Stoughton Woman Wins Song of the Year at Country Music Awards
Lori McKenna was one of three writers to receive the award for writing 'Girl Crush' by Little Big Country

A Stoughton woman won a Country Music Award Wednesday night for helping write one of the genre’s biggest songs of the year.
Stoughton native Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey, and Liz Rose picked up the Song of the Year award at the Country Music Awards as the writers of ‘Girl Crush’ by Little Big Town.
The song has been one of McKenna’s biggest hits, selling nearly 2 million copies, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs, and peaking at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100.

McKenna has become a regular writing for country stars. In addition to her work with Little Big Country, Carrie Underwood; Reba McIntyre; Keith Urban; and Hunter Hayes are just some of the artists that have written songs with her.
