'Bells On' 5K Run Returns to Sudbury

All proceeds will benefit the SEA Wally Bell Scholarship Fund.

The Third Annual Wally “Bells On” 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1K, which is organized by the Sudbury Education Association, “SEA”, in conjunction with RaceMenu, will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 starting at the Ephraim Curtis Middle School. The 5K will begin at 10:00 AM and the Kids' 1K at 11:00 AM. All proceeds will benefit the SEA Wally Bell Scholarship Fund. The 5K will take place on local Sudbury roads, while the kids' race is completely on school grounds. Please visit www.bellson5k.com to register for the 5K or the Kids’ 1K. The cost of registration is $30 and those who register by August 31 will receive t-shirts. The Kids’ 1K is $15 for children K-8 and $10 for children under school age. Registration will go up $5 for each age group on race day. The top 3 finishers in each age category will receive medals.

Each June, the Sudbury Education Association awards 4 or 5 scholarships to Lincoln-Sudbury graduating seniors. The SEA renamed the scholarship in honor of Wally Bell, a much-loved fourth grade teacher who taught for many years at Haynes Elementary School. He had a great impact on decades of fourth graders due to his enthusiastic teaching style and kind spirit. This race is named in his honor, and proceeds go directly to the scholarship fund.
