Black Friday 2017: When Malls in Middlesex County Open

Some malls and national chains are closed on Black Friday, but many in Middlesex County will be open, some with special hours.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, MA — Black Friday is still a top sales day for stores even as online shopping lets you avoid the mobs and more retailers and malls open for business on Thanksgiving evening.

Among the stores foregoing Thanksgiving hours are Burlington Coat Factory, BJ's, Guitar Center, DSW, Ikea, The Home Depot, Pier One, TJ Maxx and Staples. Find a complete, updated list of stores closing on Thanksgiving via TheBlackFriday.com.

But, for some families going to the mall has become as much a part of their Thanksgiving tradition as turkey and fighting about politics at the table. Many national chains are open for Thanksgiving hours, including Walmart, which is open all day. But most open later in the day on Thanksgiving: Target at 6 p.m., Macy's and Best Buy at 5 p.m., Kohl's at 5 p.m. and JC Penney at 2 p.m., according to Fortune Magazine.
