Heavy Rain Expected Tuesday Night, Wednesday

An “unusually strong weather system for August” is expected to hit the area Tuesday night and into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy rain and minor coastal flooding are expected. Most of the area will see 1-2 inches of rainfall with some isolated areas getting as much as 3 inches.

The good news is that parts of Southern New England are “abnormally dry” and need the rain, according to the National Weather Service.
