L-S All Sports Boosters Holds 10th Annual Ski and Sports Sale!
Drop off gently used items and purchase what you need! All to support local student athletes!
On September 22nd, hundreds of community members will be lined up at the door of the Field House in Chiswick Park, waiting for the doors of the Lincoln Sudbury All Sports Boosters 10th Annual Ski and Sports Sale to open. The line moves fast, as folks come in droves to get a premier (or maybe not so premier) piece of athletic equipment at an amazing price.
“Last year was my first year chairing the ‘ski’ portion of the sale, and I was blown away at how many people were able to walk away with terrific buys. It doesn’t feel like a huge loss if you or your child doesn’t like to ski after all; the investment you’ve made turns what may have been ‘buyers remorse’ into a fun adventure trying something new, instead,” said Dave Ross, an LS parent and Boosters Board member.
From 10:00am - 6:00 pm on September 20th and 21st, volunteers will greet folks who wish to donate gently used items to the sale. “We want to make sure we are selling items in good condition that have a lot of life left. We are hoping that folks continue to bring their skates, cleats, helmets, sticks, rackets, pucks, balls, bats and gloves that are free of rips and tears,“ said Boosters co-president, Christina Granahan. The Boosters also accept donations of bikes, gym equipment, backyard games, and duffel bags. Kayaks and electric scooters were scooped up early in the day last year.

Volunteers include Board members, community members, and student athletes from all Lincoln-Sudbury teams and clubs. In addition to donated items, the LS Boosters Ski and Sports Sale will have a vendor from a ski shop helping with fittings and sales of skis, snowboards, boots, and bindings and share a portion of their proceeds with the Boosters. For those who like brand new items only, the Boosters School Store will be on hand to sell a selection of LS Warrior apparel, too.
Lee Gross, a mom of two sons, said, “This is one of my favorite community events in town. Not only do I see old friends, but I often meet people whose kids are playing the same sports, also looking to kick off a new season without breaking the bank.”

The Lincoln Sudbury All Sports Boosters received its non-profit status from the State in November 1989 and donated about $55,000 last year alone to L-S teams. Over the past 30 years, they have donated 1.2 million dollars to the athletic program. With between 450 and 600 athletes participating each season, the Boosters has become an integral part of the athletic community, providing funds to purchase training and video equipment, pay for transportation and tournament fees, and this past year, the Boosters installed a new sound system for the stadium field. Larger projects have included resurfacing the track, contributing to the new turf, and purchasing AED machines. The all-volunteer board holds various fundraisers in order to support all club, varsity, junior varsity, 9th grade teams at L-S. In addition to the Ski and Sports Sale, the L-S All Sports Boosters offer family memberships which allows them to skip the gate charge for entrance into home games, runs the school store, and hosts the Annual Golf Classic.
