Pantry Road Remains Closed After Crash, Second Accident Damages Pole on Horse Pond Road
Two crashes resulted in damaged utility poles in town.

The Tuesday crash on Pantry Road that forced the closure of the road will continue to impact traffic in the area into the early morning hours of Wednesday, and possibly longer.
Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix said Tuesday night that the pole damaged during the crash eventually snapped in half and brought utilities to the roadway.
“Repairs are expected to go well into the early morning hours if not into the morning commute,” said Nix. “Please seek an alternate route.”

In addition, a second motor vehicle crash on Horse Pond Road near Boston Post Road also resulted in a damaged utility pole that required replacement.
The road was open as of 6 p.m., but Nix said delays still resulted from the crash.

“It is unknown how long this repair will take given the resources allocated to the previous accident,” said Nix. “Seeking an alternate route would be prudent.”
