Pet Dies In 2-Alarm Sudbury House Fire

SUDBURY, MA — A two-alarm fire in Sudbury early Friday morning badly damaged a home, and resulted in the death of a family pet, according to the fire department.

The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. at a home along Willis Road near Mossman Road. The fire began in the basement of the home, sending smoke into the upper floors.

The fire department had the blaze under control in about an hour. No firefighters or residents of the home were injured. A cat living at the home died during the fire.

Firefighters from Maynard, Lincoln, Wayland, Concord, Acton, Weston and Framingham all helped with the fire, either by responding to the fire itself or providing coverage for the rest of the town.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation Friday afternoon.
