Dear Members and Friends,

Request from Sudbury Food Pantry:

I was wondering if any of the members of the Chamber of Commerce would be able to help the Sudbury Pantry out with temporary storage space. To store donations from the food drive.

The reason for this need is as follows.

With the merging of Our lady of Fatima and St Bridget’s in Maynard, The pastor of OLF felt he needed more space consequentially we lost a significant amount of storage space (720cf). This combined with the fact that we had been notified that because of Covid-19 there would be no monthly Elementary school drives this school year (note each year they average 55,000 items with a retail value of $70-80K ) in addition other organizations informed us that they would not be conducting food drives this year.

Give that we figured we could live with the space in our storage container.

Since Covid-19 The Greater Boston Food Bank has constrained us to a Maximum of 5,000 lbs. per order The previous upper limit was 8,000 lbs. This restriction was lifted with the order we placed last week For 8,000 lbs. which we took advantage of on Thursday The schools informed us that we could have the food drive with certain restrictions and the first drive is October 28,29 & 30

On top of that, you may know we have donation boxes at Sudbury Farms and Shaw’s which we usually empty once a week are overflowing 3-4 times a week.

With an 8,000 lb. load received yesterday, we have a major space problem with the up coming school drive. Past drives have yielded about 100-120 Banana boxes of food.

We are looking for Temporary space to store the school drives and any other food drives that usually crop up around thanksgiving.

I was wondering if any of the members of the Chamber of commerce had unused space that we could use for 3-4 months?

Requirements :

Accessibility easy access from the outside no more than 2-3 stairs.

Space 120-160 Sq. ft. 8X15---8X20

Secure space

Temp will not go below 40 degrees
