SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury Public Schools students will likely return to school this fall under a "hybrid" model, where students attend a mix of online and in-person classes.

The state is requiring every school district to submit plans for reopening schools this fall amid the coronavirus pandemic by July 31. Many local districts are aiming for a "hybrid" model due to uncertainty about coronavirus, and whether cases will ramp up during cold and flu season.

According to Superintendent Brad Crozier, Sudbury students would be divided into two corhorts. One cohort would attend in-person classes on Mondays and Thursdays, and the second would attend in-person classes on Tuesdays and Fridays. All students will attend remote classes on Wednesdays.

While in school, students and teachers will wear masks, and will be required to maintain social distance. The state is requiring students to be at least 3 feet apart at all times.

The Sudbury School Committee still has to approve Crozier's hybrid plan, which might happen in the first week of August. The district is holding online meetings all this week for parents:
