Sudbury Resident Joins YMCA Boston Board

The YMCA of Greater Boston, a leading non-profit in the Boston community, has announced 14 new board members, including Susan Farina from Sudbury. Farina will serve on the board of directors helping drive the YMCA of Greater Boston’s mission and commitment to the communities it serves while reimagining its service model to meet the needs of all.

“During these unprecedented times we need passionate, strong leaders and partners to help further our mission of improving the health of mind, body and spirit of the individuals and families in greater Boston,” said James Morton, President & CEO of YMCA of Greater Boston. “Now more than ever, we are honored to have these 14 new members commit their valuable time helping us heal our neighbors and reimagining our services for the betterment of seniors, families and children.”

Farina is a business professional and entrepreneur with deep operations and legal experience. She brings to boards strength in strategizing, risk avoidance and management, and preparing for and leading corporate transition for growth. With an acuity for operational improvements to maximize profit margins, Farina adds an ability to look beyond the immediate to see business opportunities and find creative ways to leverage them. Farina is an advocate of systems and procedures to help build sustainable business practices and enterprise value. With a focus on private and startup companies, and experience with non-profit and family owned entities, she brings to boards an understanding of cultural and interpersonal nuances that may impact an entity’s ability to grow and/or prosper, helping unite stakeholders to meet common goals.
