It is the goal of the Loring PTO to create a partnership between parents, teachers, and staff collaboratively working together to enrich the educational and social experiences of our students. To that end, they have committed extensive resources to the library. The Birthday Book program has brought over 350 new books into the library since 2017. In addition to the generous stipend provided to the library to purchase tools and resources to engage students in library and STEM projects, the PTO also has provided monies for Creative Enrichment programs that help students see books in a different way. Last year, grades 3-5 learned about creative writing with author Rob Vlock and all students went home with his latest book. In grades K-2, students attended a musical performance based on the book “Dragons Love Tacos.”
The Loring PTO will receive the award on a date TBD at the MSLA Awards Banquet.
