Sudbury Schools Closing For 2 Weeks Over Coronavirus
In addition to the schools closing, the Goodnow Library is announcing changes to its operations due to coronavirus.
SUDBURY, MA — All Sudbury schools will be closed until March 30 as the new coronavirus outbreak spreads across the region.
The decision was made on Thursday as a flurry of other districts across the state announced extended closures. No students or staff at Sudbury schools are known to have COVID-19, according to officials.
"Although we have not been directed to close by state agencies, this proactive decision was reached in consultation with Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and Bill Murphy, Sudbury Health Director," Superintendent Brad Crozier said in a statement. "Currently, no SPS or LS students or staff have been identified as a presumptive or confirmed COVID-19 case."

The district is also canceling all field trips through at least April 3, canceling community building use, and will be cleaning schools during the closure.
Sudbury did confirm a presumptive COVID-19 case in a resident earlier this week. There were 108 cases total in Massachusetts as of Thursday, and 49 of them are in people who live in Middlesex County.

The Goodnow Library also announced some changes on Thursday, although the library will remain open as usual for now. All library programs are canceled through April 12, including the Friends Book and Bake Sale and the Foundation Gala.
The library's public meeting rooms will be closed, and some high-touch objects — like toys and puzzles — will be less available. The library is also asking anyone with respiratory illness symptoms to stay away.
