Thomas Tasker, Owner of Potter Systems of Newton and Sudbury, Dies at 87

Tasker was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He graduated from Waltham High School.

Thomas Huntley Tasker, Sr., 87, of Sudbury, died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at his home after an illness.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Beverly E. (Beck) Tasker; two sons, Thomas H. Tasker II and his wife Carol of Boylston, William Jefferson Tasker and his wife Elizabeth of Hudson; three grandchildren, Travis, Laura and Benjamin Tasker.

Huntley was born December 27, 1927 in Cambridge, the only child of Walter Jefferson and Harriet Jane (Huntley) Tasker. He was raised and educated in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1945.

Mr. Tasker served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and in the Army Reserves from 1953 until 1959. He has been a resident of Sudbury for fifty-seven years and was the owner of Potter Systems, Inc. of Newton and Sudbury.

Huntley was a long-time member of the Sudbury Methodist Church and proudly participated in the construction of their current building. He served as a coach in the Sudbury Little League and was an avid sports fan and golfer. As a volunteer he drove senior citizens to appointments in conjunction with the Sudbury Senior Center. He enjoyed travelling with his wife, Beverly, and loved to read. Huntley was happiest at home in the company of his family and close friends.
