William Carney, Lifelong Sudbury Resident, Dies After Battle With ALS
Carney operated a woodworking shop in Sudbury.

William Harvey Carney, 62, of Sudbury, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015 surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gerhig’s Disease).
Bill was the son of George and Dorothy (Boudreau) Carney of Sudbury. He graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and lived in Sudbury all of his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Rebecca Frost Carney of Sudbury; his sister, Mary Carney of Marlboro, his brother and sister-in-law, David and Joanne Carney of Hudson; nephew Sean Carney and his wife Amy of Virginia Beach, VA; niece, Catherine Hurd and her husband Bill of Great Lakes, IL; great nephews, Owen and Aiden Carney of Virginia Beach, VA, Clayton and Jacob Hurd of Great Lakes, IL. Also many additional nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy; by his brother, George Garfield Carney; by five beloved Labrador retrievers: Jake, Gus, Shane, Lucas, Riley; three cats, Muffin, Trudy and Kola.

Bill was a skilled Finish Carpenter and Cabinetmaker and had his own woodworking shop in Sudbury for many years. He was loved by all and his great sense of humor will be sorely missed.
The family will hold a private graveside service.
