A Bat in a Home and Vandalism on Pine Street

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Aug. 6

  • At 6:16 a.m., police received a report of a homeowner at Columbia and Essex working on his house and disturbing the neighborhood. Police advised the homeowner of the complaint.
  • At 8:07 a.m., vandalism was reported to an SUV on Pine Street overnight.
  • At 9:40 a.m., a Puritan Road caller reported his van was struck by another vehicle.
  • At 11:27 a.m., vehicles were ticketed on Humphrey Street.
  • At 2:58 p.m., a Crescent St. caller reported that a neighbor was yelling at him.
  • At 3:35 p.m., police received a report of an erratic driver on Essex Street.
  • At 4:42 p.m., a motorist was stopped and given a citation for driving with a suspended license. Her car was towed from the scene.
Wednesday, Aug. 7
  • At 1:26 a.m., police received a report from an Eastman Avenue caller about a bat in his house. The caller took care of the problem. The animal control officer was notified and will pick up the bat for testing.
