A Dog Bite and Found Needle
The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Aug. 5
- At 6:36 p.m., police helped a North Stone Road resident find a lost dog but the animal was stuck and police called the animal control officer to the scene.Â
- At 9:04 a.m., police received a report from Franklin Road about a vehicle with a flat tire that appeared to be abandoned.
- At 9:07 p.m., police received a report of a used needle near the trash pick-up sign at Phillips Beach.
- At 11:12 a.m., police received a report of a young man on a bicycle taking pictures of trains, about eight of them, pulling in and out of the Swampscott Train Station.
- At 1:12 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with personal injury was reported on Humphrey Street.
- At 2:42 p.m., the postmaster reported that a mail carrier was bitten by a dog on Pine Street.
- At 10:21 a.m., a caller reported a loose white dog, perhaps a husky, running around at Bradlee Avenue and Humphrey Street. Police checked the area.
