Barefoot Hawaiian Beach Party Happening Saturday

The Swampscott Board of Recreation wants to help residents appreciate the beauty that is Fisherman’s Beach. And board members are thinking live music, food, adult drinks and a bit of dancing can help you do that.

Tickets are now on sale for the first Barefoot Hawaiian Beach Party that will take place on Fisherman’s Beach Saturday, Aug. 29 from 7-10 p.m.

“This is the first time we’re putting on a beach party so we’re really hoping people come out and have a great night while enjoying one of Swampscott’s best venues!” Katie Katzman, a volunteer with the Swampscott Board of Recreation. “Planning for the beach party began last fall. We feel like this event is going to be really fun because it will give us an opportunity to celebrate summer in one of our most picturesque settings.”

Local jazz band The Carrtunes will perform as partygoers enjoy free food and a cash bar.

Katzman said the calendar calls for a full moon the night of the party, and, while the event is rain or shine, “We’re hoping for a perfect summer night overlooking the ocean and the Boston skyline while dancing to local jazz band the Carrtunes and having fun with your neighbors.”

Tickets for the 21-and-up party are $35 each with proceeds going to support the Swampscott Summer Concert Series. Tickets are on sale via the Swampscott Recreation website or in person at Town Hall and at the Sunday Farmers’ Markets throughout August.
