Beware: Porch Package Thefts on the Rise

About four delivery packages have been stolen from Swampscott homes in the past month.
Just this week a thief stole a UPS package from outside a Burrill Street home during the day near the intersection with Paradise Road, said Swampscott police Det. Rose Cheever.
Swampscott police recommend you require a signature if you are having a package delivered to your house. 
Another precaution is to ask a neighbor to accept a package for you.
And, at the very least, it's always helpful to be vigilant and watch out for your neighbors.
In the last month two packages have been stolen from Paradise Road homes, a Norfolk Avenue residence and, most recently, from the Burrill Street home.
