Charles T. 'Chuck' Marcou: Navy Veteran, Longtime Swampscott Resident
Visitation is Wednesday evening and services will be held Thursday.

Charles T. “Chuck” Marcou, 82, of Swampscott, died Sunday in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Martha L. “Martie” (Kelleher) Marcou, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. He was raised in Medford, the son of the late Charles L. and Anna (Assad) Marcou. He had lived in Swampscott for the greater part of his life.
Charles was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1951, and also attended Holy Cross College and Boston College, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956-1958. A CPA, he retired after a long career with the Internal Revenue Service.

He was an active communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott, where he was a CCD teacher and CCD master teacher. He and his wife were former vice-presidents of the Couples Club at St. Johns. Charles served on the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee for Greater Lynn Senior Services. He was also an avid golfer and skier.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; David Marcou of Danvers and Tom Marcou of Lynn; one daughter; Ann Marcou of Lynn; two sisters; Laurie Becker of Canton and Diane Hogan of Malden; as well as his niece, Maggie Sullivan and his nephews, Tom Hogan, Bill Sullivan, Matt Sullivan, Michael Kelleher, and Kevin Kelleher.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Solimine Funeral Home (67 Ocean St. (Rt 1A), Lynn), followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Those who prefer may make donations to Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
