Company Looks To Open Second Swampscott Cannabis Shop
Calyx Peak Companies wants to lease a town-owned property and apply for a license to open a recreational cannabis store in Swampscott.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A second company is planning to open a recreational cannabis store in Swampscott. Under a proposal by Calyx Peak Companies, the company would lease a town-owned property at 16 New Ocean Street and convert it into a 2,100-square-foot store. A screening committee has recommended selectmen accept the proposal, according to the Swampscott Community and Economic Development Department.
On Wednesday, selectmen voted to enter a host city agreement with Terpene Journey LLC, which wants to open a recreational cannabis store at 430 Paradise Road. The company held its first outreach meeting this month to hear concerns from residents.
