SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott is under an extreme drought and little relief is in sight. No rain is in the forecast this weekend; there's a 50 percent chance of rain Monday. More rain isn't expected until the weekend of Aug. 26 at the earliest.
All of northeastern Massachusetts was under an extreme drought as of Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
