Former Swampscott College to be Converted to Condos
The former campus of Marian Court College was recently sold to developers who want to turn it into condos.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA - After buying the former campus property of Marian Court College for $2.75 million, a group of Swampscott developers are hoping to turn it into condominiums, according to Salem News.
According to developers Mark Klaman and Andrew Rose, principals of the retail real estate and development company Centercorp Retail Properties of Loring Avenue in Salem, the plan includes 18 condominiums on the more than 6-acre property at 35 Littles Point Road while preserving much of the historic mansion and grounds.
Plans call for two new three-story wings that will flank the estate. Classroom buildings and other additions to White Court and a garage will be torn down.

"Every single unit is going to be direct oceanfront," Klaman said.
The rolling front lawn to the ocean, Klaman said, will be left undisturbed. Underground parking, with each unit getting three parking spaces, is planned. The existing White Court building will have six condos within it, and so will the two additional wings, for a total of 18.

The development will be marketed to those 55 and up. Units will be marketed for around $2.25 million, Klaman said.
