Girl Scouts Donate 100 Pounds of Dog and Cat Food to Meals on Wheels
A Girl Scout Troop from Wakefield showed some love to people in the Greater Lynn area when they donated pet food for seniors.

Meals on Wheels has always been a great service for seniors who can’t make their own food, but now the service will feed their pets too.
Thanks to two Girl Scouts from Wakefield troop 71461, Meals on Wheels participants in Swampscott, Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant and Saugus will get food for their pets along with their own meals this month.
Alicia Brennan and Laura Kunz donated 100 pounds of dog and cat food to Greater Lynn Senior Services, split between individual doggie bags, according to the Daily Times Chronicle.

The girls have done service at local food pantries in the area, they said, which made them realize the people who need help getting food for themselves often also need help feeding their pets.
Meals on Wheels is a free service for people 60 and over who cannot prepare their own meals. Those who use the service are asked to give a small donation, but Meals on Wheels never turns someone away if they can’t donate.
