Have You Noticed More Aircraft Overhead

Noteworthies from Swampscott, today, Sept. 24.

1. Flight Notes:

Selectman John Callahan noted last week that it seems more and more planes are flying over Swampscott of late.
If aircraft noise is a problem, call Massport's Noise Complaint Line at (617) 561-3333. The line is staffed by Massport's Noise Abatement Office from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on business days.

During off hours, weekends and holidays callers may leave a message for the Noise Abatement staff or speak with the Massport Operations Center. Someone from the Operations Center will log your question or complaint and forward the information to the Noise Abatement Office for follow up.

2. Weather Watch: 

Tuesday's forecast calls for sunshine and a high temperature of 65. 
  • Sunrise: 6:33 a.m.
  • Low tide: 9:03 a.m.
  • High tide: 3:20 p.m.
  • Sunset: 6:36 p.m.

3. School Notes:

The School Committee meets Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. in Room B208 at Swampscott High School.

4: Academic Notes: 

Cymantha Rogers, daughter of C. Bradford and Dara Rogers of Swampscott, began her first year at Saint Michael's College this month. Rogers graduated from Swampscott High School before coming to Saint Michael's, which is located in Burlington, Vermont

5. Sports Notes: 

Boys varsity soccer plays Essex/Manchester today at 4 at Swampscott High on the upper Jackson field.
