Hope For Creativity Celebrates Book with Gallery Exhibition

Hope For Creativity, a local non-profit organization will host a gallery exhibition to celebrate their book Boundless Expression.

Since 2009, Hope For Creativity, a non-profit organization founded by Moira Landry—who was twelve years old at the time—has changed the lives of over 6,000 homeless children through art, creative expression, and play. After eight years of successful fundraisers, Landry wanted to do something more. She and her team launched a crowdfunding campaign to publish a coloring book called Boundless Expression. Within a few months of the campaign’s run, Landry was able to publish the book through Amazon’s publishing platform Createspace, and the book has been for sale via Amazon since November of last year.

Boundless Expression is not a regular coloring book; each page was hand-drawn by 16 different artists from across the United States and from England. In addition to traditional coloring pages, the book also features pages with prompts for doodling and creative self-reflection. For every book that Hope For Creativity sells, they have pledged to provide one to a child experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts.

To celebrate the success of Boundless Expression. Hope For Creativity will have a gallery exhibition in partnership with Reach Arts, a community arts center in Swampscott. Earlier this year, Hope For Creativity and Reach Arts announced their long-term partnership.

The exhibition, entitled “The Art of Boundless Expression” will feature original ink and paper drawings and prints of the pages included in the book that were created by sixteen artists from across the United States and England. For the duration of the exhibition, the books will be for sale in the gallery at Reach Arts.

The opening reception of the exhibition will include an interactive service project, where guests of the event can help assemble Create-It Boxes, a new endeavor of HFC to provide more art supplies to children experiencing homelessness.
