How Miserable was Your Thanksgiving? Massachusetts Ranks 21st Least Miserable State for Turkey Day

Massachusetts ranks 40th in Black Friday sale enthusiasm.

How was your Thanksgiving Day this year? Did you fly across the country to have dinner with your family or do you force yourself out of bed to attend an obligatory family reunion in your hometown? Was food sickness or arguing part of your celebration?

According to Estately, Massachusetts is the 21st least miserable state for Thanksgiving celebrations.

On a nationwide chart entitled the Thanksgiving Misery Index, Massachusetts ranked:

  • 37th in Salmonella cases per capita from poultry
  • 14th in dietary restrictions
  • 40th in enthusiasm for Black Friday sales

The chart suggests that the most miserable state is Ohio while Hawaii’s ranking as least miserable makes a tropical turkey meal sound like a great idea.
