Lynn's Porthole Restaurant Sold, Will Close
The iconic North Shore restaurant will be demolished in favor of high-priced luxury condos, the Lynn Item reports.

LYNN, MA — The iconic Porthole Restaurant on the Lynnway is expected to close in the next few months after its owner on Thursday sold the restaurant, the Item reports.
Robert Gaudet, 69, sold the restaurant and the 50,460-square-foot waterfront lot to Patrick McGrath for $1.4 million. according to the Item. McGrath, the developer and owner of the Lynnway Mart Indoor Mall & Flea Market, said he will tear down the restaurant and build 55 luxury condos that could open in late 2019.
The Porthole has been in business since 1967 and in its current familiar spot since 1981.
