1. The Building Can Begin: Now that selectmen have given final approval for Atlantic Crossing Development to build 14 units at the former Temple Israel site on Humphrey Street, demo work is expected to start in September.Â
A spokesman for Atlantic Crossing estimated that construction of the homes would be complete by 2015.

3. Student News: Samuel J. Rakoc of Swampscott was among the 548 students awarded a degree at St. Lawrence University's Commencement ceremony, held May 19 on campus in Canton, New York. Rakoc was awarded a degree in environmental studies-mathematics combined and is a graduate of Swampscott High School.

4. Time to Make Honey Dew Donuts? Tonight at 7:45 p.m. at the Senior Center the ZBA is scheduled to take up special permits for a change of use at 197 Essex Street. The change of use from a former pizza shop to a Honey Dew Donuts shop. 197 Essex is across the street from Swampscott High.
5. Fantastic: Starting Friday, Marblehead Little Theatre will present what sounds to be an enchanting drama that they first brought to the stage more than 50 years ago — The Fantasticks.
