North Shore Weather Forecast: 9 to 13 Inches Possible

Tuesday's storm is shaping up to be a doozy: Here's what we know so far.

NORTH SHORE, MA – A winter storm warning will be in effect on the North Shore on Tuesday from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. After that, the area will be under blizzard watch until 8 p.m., per the National Weather Service.

According to the latest NWS forecast, the North Shore could get between 9 to 13 inches of snow on Tuesday, with the snow expected to start after 7 a.m. Winter parking bans had already been issued in Beverly and Peabody by noon on Monday.

Snow totals have been predicted with uncertainty, according to the NWS, since the snowfall by turn to rain or sleep along the coast.

Tuesday night could see an additional 3 to 5 inches of new snow. Wednesday will have another chance of snow showers, as will Saturday, meaning the end of this storm doesn't necessarily mean the end of shoveling.

Those along the coast should be wary of flooding at high tide on Tuesday afternoon and early Wednesday morning. The expected impacts are classified as "minor-moderate" along the North Shore, but is still a possibility.

The most likely snowfall totals, according to the NWS, land the area at around 12 inches of snow as of just before 4 a.m. on Monday.
