Planned Political Rally Forces Swampscott School To Go Remote
Swampscott's Hadley Elementary School, which is near ongoing protests and rallies in town, went remote on Thursday.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Elementary school students in Swampscott were switched to a remote day of learning on Thursday due to a planned political rally near the school.
Swampscott principal Ilana Bebchick said the decision was made due to the expected protest planned for Humphrey Street that.
"Due to the fact that we are still awaiting results of the election and out of an abundance of caution, Superintendent (Pam) Angelakis and I have decided that (Thursday) will be a remote day of learning for Hadley students," Bebchick said in a letter to parents.
