Public Library to Host Evening With Author Nancy Thayer

SWAMPSCOTT – Author Nancy Thayer will speak at the Swampscott Public Library on Wednesday, June 22nd at 7pm. 

Thayer will present a reading of her latest novel, The Island House, followed by a book signing. 

Thayer is the author of twenty-three novels, including Summer House, The Hot Flash Club, Beachcombers, Heat Wave, Summer Breeze and Island Girls. 

The author holds a B.A. and M.A. in English literature from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. She was a Fellow at the Breadloaf Writers’ Conference. Her work has been translated into German, Finnish, Hebrew, Russian, Turkish, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Serbo-Croatian, Swedish, Danish and Polish. 

Thayer has lived on Nantucket year-round for the past twenty-eight years with her husband Charley Walters. Her daughter is novelist Samantha Wilde.
