Sunday at Swampscott 'Dragway' ... Classic Car Show 2013

So far the weather forecast looks promising for Sunday, Oct. 20's Classic By The Sea Car Show, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Town Hall lawn and Monument Avenue.

The forecast: mostly sunny, a high temperature of 60 degrees. 

The last try at bringing out the antique beauties for a showing, on Oct. 6, got scrapped for rain.

Here's hoping the chrome shines and the colors dazzle when about 150 cars come to the way back when event sponsored by the Swampscott Recreation Department.

Typically, you get to see sleek mid-century European models, chunky hot rods, big-grilled and big-bumpered machines from the love 'em or hate 'em 1950s, elegant Thunderbirds, sleek vettes and muscular Chevelles, to name a few.

The event features color, chrome and concessions.
