Swampscott Financial Advisor Stole $250K From Elderly Client
Felix Gorovodsky, 29, pleaded guilty to stealing money from his elderly victim and using $100,000 of it to repay his own student loans.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A Swampscott financial advisor who stole more than $250,000 from his elderly victim and used some of the money to repay his own student loans pleaded guilty to one count of bank fraud in federal court on Friday.
The U.S. Attorney's Office said Felix Gorovodsky, 29, will be sentenced to 33 months in prison and pay more than $300,000 in restitution as part of the plea agreement.
The charging document accused Gorovodsky of accessing and liquidating the victim's bank account nine months after she fired him and revoked the power of attorney authority she had previously granted him.

The U.S. Attorney's office said Gorovodsky transferred more than $250,000 to his account, including more than $100,000 he used to pay his own student loans after forging her signature in a "gift letter" as part of the fraudulent transfer.
The charge has carried up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
